Let our Student Naturalists guide you down through the Niagara Glen, where you will discover a rich diversity of native plants and animals. While you trek through the Glen, you will learn about its natural heritage along with the many rare species that inhabit it. Don’t forget your camera as there will be no shortage of photo opportunities along the way! Since you will be hiking through rugged terrain, proper attire is required.

Worlds Tallest Flower at the Floral Showhouse
The Amorphophallus titanum, or Titan Arum, is a massive bell-shaped flower up to three metres in height. Come and see it for yourself!

Annual Hydrangea Display
Come to the Floral Showhouse to view these gigantic spheres of spring colour. Annual features include hanging baskets – some over five feet wide, overflowing with colourful Hydrangeas. In addition, forced Foxglove and Delphinium will complete the spectacular display of blues, pinks and white.

Enjoy Lilacs in Bloom
Experience our fragrant Lilac Garden. Ten acres just north of the Floral Clock, featuring over 1,200 plants with over 200 different varieties.

Bicentennial Commemoration LaunchFriday, June 15, 2012
A variety of events will be held throughout the Park to commemorate the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 and celebrate the peace held between our nations for almost 200 years. Events include: Candlelight ceremony, concerts in the park, fireworks over the Falls, Six Nations Pow Wow, Heritage Fair and period encampment, Official Opening Ceremonies and more.

The Friendship Festival features spectacular concerts, entertainment, crafts and more in celebration of over 200 years of friendship between Canada and the US.

2012 CN Canadian Womens Tour Event
One of the world’s premier developmental tours, the CN Canadian Women’s Tour continues to attract rising Canadian and international female golf professionals as well as top female amateurs. Many of Canada’s top professionals, including Lorie Kane and Alena Sharp as well as 2012 LPGA Tour members Rebecca Lee-Bentham and Maude-Aimée LeBlanc have competed on the CN Canadian Women’s Tour as a springboard to future success. The 2012 season will see events hosted at Richmond Country Club in Richmond, B.C., Club de golf Beloeil in Beloeil, Que. and Legends on the Niagara in Niagara, Ont. Total season prize money for 2012 is $180,000 (CDN); each championship purse will be $60,000 with the champion earning $10,000. As well, the top three players on the CN Canadian Women’s Tour season-ending order of merit will be awarded direct entry into Stage 2 of LPGA Qualifying School. All entry fees will be paid for Stage 2 and, if applicable, Stage 3 (up to a value of $4,000 each).

Battle of Culloden Re-enactmentSaturday, May 19, 2012
Join in the traditions of 18th century Scotland and experience the dramatic recreation of the 1745 Jacobite uprising at Old Fort Erie. There will be battle re-enactments, as well as traditional Scottish sport, dance, and food. Admission to battle re-enactments is free; regular admission applies for entrance to the Fort: $12.25 for adults, $7.95 for children 6-12. Children 5 and under admitted FREE. Old Fort Erie is located at 350 Lakeshore Road, Fort Erie, only 20 minutes south of Niagara Falls along the Niagara Parkway.

Ride to Conquer CancerSaturday, June 9, 2012
A two-day cycle challenge departing from both the Niagara Parkway and Toronto, ending at the mighty Niagara Falls on June 10. This sold out event supports the efforts at Princess Margaret Hospital to find a cure for cancer.

Wallenda Wire Walk
Famed American aerialist Nik Wallenda will attempt a dramatic crossing over the Niagara River between Niagara Falls, New York and Niagara Falls, Ontario on a tightrope, suspended approximately 60 metres (200 feet) above the turbulent waters rushing over the brink of Niagara Falls.
